When you’re still and silent, you feel a space that’s beckoning you to grow into something bigger. But right now you may not even know right now what ‘bigger’ means. Or maybe you do. And that’s the place where fear sets in.
Perhaps you long to grow or expand your creative business, start teaching Momtography® classes in your city or town, run a nonprofit, or complete a passion project like a writing book or starting a blog. It's the type of dream feels a bit out of reach right now.
The voices inside your head keep saying: you’re too busy right now, you don't know where to begin, it’s not the right time, you’re not ready, maybe when the kids are older, when you have more time, more money, more energy, someday...
So you spin your wheels and wait for the right time (spoiler alert: it doesn’t arrive). You stay stuck right where you are, caring for your kids, going through the motions of the daily grind.
You put you and your big dreams aside. But you keep looking at them, unsure what comes next.
Building a bigger vision for your life requires big steps outside of your comfort zone. Where you see the long game of a life well lived and a plan well executed. Where you're anticipating your needs and putting yourself and your dreams first. You need the support of someone who has been there before you. A person who knows how to lead you through restructuring your time despite the fear, make a plan for what comes next, and help your find your confidence along the way.
What if, for six weeks, we took a magnifying glass to you and your life and your dreams?
This is the place where our work together begins.
It's the type of work where your life will not be the same after showing up.
I know this because I've lived it.
And I know you can also do the hard work of making changes to your life in honor of that bold and brave woman you dream of becoming.
Hi, I’m Beryl Ayn Young, founder of Recapture Self and creator of the Creative Incubator Lab.
In 2009, I picked up a camera and fell in love with a tool that healed me after the devastating loss of our first daughter during pregnancy. On a whim I started a personal blog to process the difficult emotions during this time of transition.
Friends and strangers started to read. And I began to get curious about where this little blog of mine could lead.
3 years later, I left my job as an elementary school teacher to transition full time into that business owner I dreamed up -- before I actually thought she could become that person. (aka: I leapt before I was ready)
THE CREATIVE INCUBATOR LAB follows the process I use to kick off the journey of all of my private 1:1 coaching clients – and the transformations I have seen have been incredible.
We spend 6 weeks together making progress towards YOUR current passion project or dream.
They say it takes 21 days to making something a habit so over the course of our 6 weeks together you'll get 21 SHORT lessons from me.
Tasks to complete, videos to watch, actions to take, questions to ponder. These lessons should take no more than 20 minutes each day to complete.
There will be natural breaks built into the process so you don't fall behind (I know life as a mom is busy!) which gives us 6-weeks to connect, process, and figure out the next steps toward making your dreams a reality.
The Creative Incubator Lab is all about building habits that get you taking small consistent actions, ones that allow you to trust yourself more, restructure your time effectively, build your confidence muscle, and open the door of possibility wide open.
She really takes the time to get to know you and your dreams, and works hard to help you get to know yourself and your dreams, too.
Before the Creative Incubator Lab began I was worried about finding the time to fit ME into our day. With work, parenting, and other family obligations, did I have time to add one more thing to my schedule? And, more importantly, could I commit the time to really devote myself to this work and give it my best?
As it turns out, I didn't need to worry. Beryl is a master at the process of big gains made one small step at a time. She creates meaningful assignments that are doable in 10–15 minutes. And the work was so energizing, it was easy to make it a priority.
I looked forward to my daily e-mails, to see what we'd be working on next — it was like finding a gift in my inbox each day. And when I found myself a day or two behind — life always happens — the flexible and fluid nature of her process made it easy to catch back up and continue to make steady progress.
What did I complete in 21 days? I finished a manuscript for a children's book! To find myself at the point where I'm seriously researching publishing options instead of just "somedaying" my writing is amazing.
Perhaps more importantly, she helped me take steps to start to put myself out there - the idea of which terrified me at first, but through our work together, became decidedly less frightening.
With Beryl's guidance and support, I was able to do something that I haven't done in years - start to remember who I am.
4 spots available!
The tasks you’ll complete during the CREATIVE INCUBATOR LAB are rooted in the 4 core foundations of the Recapture Self coaching methodology and we'll focus on each of these pillars throughout the program: Curiosity, Commitment, Connection, Consistency.
You can’t bring a dream to life without getting curious. What is it that you really want? And why? When you get curious about what your dream means to you and what you really want you get really focused, really real. And sometimes our curiosity shows us paths we might not have seen. So in the Creative Incubator Lab, we’re going to ask questions and wonder, and get really curious.
The women that work with me are committed to doing inner and outer work. They’re ready for big change. They’re ready to do the sometimes difficult (yet exciting!) work of dream building. When you join Creative Incubator Lab, you are saying, This is important to me.
When we start something big, something that stretches us, something a little risky, amazing things happen, but during the process, big emotions come up to. We reach places where we think we’re stuck or wonder what the hell we were thinking. In the connection piece, we deal with all the emotions that come up. We turn back to your why. We find your reason for Yes and we reconnect. And again, you aren’t doing this alone. You will be connected with me throughout the process.
Consistency is about how to stick with it when it feels hard or gets boring. It may be about a plan or adding accountability. It’s about getting past the things that you let get in your way. It’s about knowing what to do next, and after that, and after that – long after our 21–day process is over.
Confidence isn’t so much one of the pillars of the process, but a result. One of the end goals is to instill self-reliance into your experience. It’s about teaching you to trust your gut, use your intuition and, walk through your life and business a bit differently. I’m all about showing you the tools that will help you be seen more, but then encouraging you not to follow every bit of expert advice and wisdom you come across. To trust yourself. And know your dream is 100% attainable AND worth the effort.
• Regular bite-size assignments (21 in total), each with something short to do to keep you moving forward and taking consistent action on your dream.
• Unlimited text/email access to Beryl for ongoing support with your specific goal.
• Two 45 minute 1:1 calls with Beryl over the course of your 6-week process.
• A special care package (snail mail!!) from me to help nurture your dreams
I tend to shy away from risk and do what's comfortable, because I do not like failure (I mean, who does?). I've been at the same company for the past 12 years (and I do love where I work and what I do).
Signing up to work with Beryl and plan out how to run a Momtography™ teaching business was a HUGE step out of my comfort zone. It was scary, but I realized that if I didn't take this chance on myself, I'd have to keep looking back and wonder, "What if?". I hated that feeling.
What made this a "YES", aside from the support from my husband and Mom telling me I SHOULD do it, was believing 100% in the Momtography program and business I was creating. I knew with support and a push I could make this dream a reality.
One of my favorite parts of this program is having a group of like-minded women offering their support and encouragement. That’s solidified that I made the right decision.
I’m really busy. How much time do I need?
The Creative Incubator Lab is about making a commitment to your dream, so you should plan on following through with the short activities, but you can do a lot with regular, small steps. You can complete most of the activities in about 10–15 minutes. Plus we have weekends and break days off so that you can catch up, integrate ideas, charge ahead on your own. Plus I'll be there as a support, not a distraction, with calls build in to keep you connected to your goal first and foremost so you can not feel so alone in your fears and challenges.
I’m so busy right now and my schedule is all over the place. Can this work?
Yes! I usually run the Creative Incubator Lab as a group program, but I know how hectic and unpredictable schedules can be, especially for photographers at this time of year! That’s why I’m offering the Lab as a 1:1 experience right now. You pick the start date that works for you and your schedule and everything is done on your own time with my dedicated support as you walk through the process.
Reaching my dream in 21 days doesn’t feel realistic. What will I really accomplish?
Creative Incubator Lab is a 6 week journey, with 21 focused days of specific activities. At the end of our coaching, you will trust yourself more and actually believe that your dream is not only possible, but happening. You'll have a broad, long-range vision of what your dream and your life with your dream looks like. And you’ll know, not only that it's possible to find time for the steps you need to take to bring your dream to life, but how to break things down and make the time. You can return to the toolbox and framework you learn during the Recapture Self Creative Incubator Lab to stay committed and connected to yourself and your desires long after we are done. Some people do complete a project or reach a goal all within the 21 days. That depends on what the goal is and the time and resources you have to devote to it. Whether or not you finish writing the book or launch the business or run the race or whatever your dream is, you will be well on your way and know how you will get there.
It’s not really a big dream, but …
I want you to dream big, but even if your dream doesn’t feel really big right now (or it feels huge to you, but compared to other dreams it pales), your dream is your dream. If you really want it,d can help you get there. And what you learn and the confidence you gain will help you with your next dream and the next one and the next one.
Will you offer this again? I’m not ready yet.
We’re ready for change when we are ready for change, but one thing I’ve learned is that most of us think we’re not ready when we really are. Sometimes what this means is, “I’m scared because I’ve never done this before” or “Who am I to …?” That’s normal. Fear kicks in when we think about doing something big and new. Honestly, when you feel that fear and step in anyway, that’s where the magic begins.
I feel like I need something, but I don’t know exactly what I want to do. Can I still do this program?
Yes! In the first week we get really curious, and this curiosity can help you understand your own dreams and desires better. Sometimes we have ideas that we don’t own up to or squash because they feel out of reach. Sometimes we put a lid on an idea because it’s too big or too silly. By getting curious, you can look the ideas that are stirring in you to get clearer on the dream you want to go for now.
Where do I sign up?

Before this journey I was so worried about investing in myself. But then I began to see coaching as a professional development opportunity and it became a 'no brainer'.
During the 21 day process I discovered how to set daily intentions, journal, and get all my thoughts out of my brain and out into the open. Further, I learned how to lean into my intuition, granting me permission to create my dream project – an interior design course to help busy families create harmony in their homes.
At first my dream seemed daunting and I didn’t feel confident in my abilities. But Beryl was the perfect coach and cheerleader and with her support we were able to work through my fear and vulnerabilities.
The process has held me accountanable every step of the way and helped me follow through with my ideas, which are amazing to finally be bringing to life!
